Job Description:
Dragon Manor Farms, LLC is looking for an ambitious mushroom/mycology Lab technician with strong mycologist skills to lead in the Research & Development of our fungal products. This position will be responsible for the genetic validation of our truffle inoculant, developing ways to grow our species of truffle better, developing the indoor and outdoor methods of growing gourmet mushrooms, and developing methods for growing harder-to-grow mushrooms (such as morels) indoor mushrooms.

We are looking for someone In addition, this position will lead the quality control effort of our organization.

Required Skills:

  • Working is our pressurized, sterile lab develops live mushroom cultures
  • Creates spawn and other growth mediums
  • Helps research growth strategies for new strains and species of mushrooms and other fungi
  • Begin a a bioprospecting program looking for wild genetics

Main Requirments:

  • looking for someone who can pour plates, slants, plate cultures, pull liquid culture, has good sterile technique, and can work without direction if necessary
  • Receive, label and analyze cultures
  • Pull culture orders and do sterile production work
  • Conduct experiments under defined conditions to verify/reject various types of hypotheses using scientific method
  • Organize and store all chemicals substances, fluids, and compressed gases according to safety instructions
  • Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility
  • Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies
  • Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment

Preferred Skill:

  • Proven experience as Lab Technician or relevant position
  • Experience in operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment and potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, infectious bacteria, biohazards, etc.)
  • Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
